Francis Gene "Pete" Schwager

Francis "Pete" Schwager, 70, of Milan, IL, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, IA.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be Monday, July 3, at 10:00 a.m., please arrive at funeral home at 9:15 a.m. for processional to cemetery.

Pete was born on February 21, 1947, in Tilden, NE, the son of Walter Henry Schwager and Martha Louise (Moore) Schwager Wells. Pete married Nancy Huggins, they later divorced.

Pete was a graduate of Aledo High School, Aledo, IL. In his younger years, Pete worked at Farmall and at various gas stations. He baled hay before finally going into the junking business. Pete was in the junking business for over 46 years. He was also co-owner of A-1 Used Car & Truck Parts with his late son. Pete enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, "Junking", and most of all being around his family.

Pete leaves to cherish his memories father, Walter Schwager, Centerville, IA; daughters, Connie Lairmore, Milan, IL, Crystal Schwager, Rock Island, IL; and grandchildren, Mark Snyder-Truitt, Jr., Josie Miller, Gary Schwager II, and Francine Schwager.

He is preceded in death by mother, Martha, step-mother, Dorothy, son, Gary, and grandson, Jescie Armstrong.

Memorials may be made to Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd.

Dad, I really enjoyed our fishing together I'm going to miss that and I'm going to miss going on our long drives and you telling me, "when I was a boy" stories or you telling me all of the places that you baled hay and all of the places you junked at and that this used to be there instead of that. I'm going to miss having you here. I got you by a tree in the shade. RIP DAD   LOVE YA CONNIE

Pete and I were school friends in Perryton and Aledo schools.  
He was always so kind.
