I was very sad to see Mike Maher's obituary in today's paper. My sincere sympathy to his family.  Although we were never close, we did have a few get togethers when we were kids.  I met his daughter once when I worked at Southpark and thought we had a very similar resemblance. May God be with you all at this difficult time.

So sorry to read about Mike.  We lost touch over the years but had some fun times at family gatherings when we were kids. I hope he is at rest.

IMHO, one of the reasons for the general collapse of Catholic life was that for many years priests (and Catholics) learned the answers but never really understood the questions. And IMHO, one of the reasons that many of the laity have little clue about their faith is that dissidents are left to prate on about their opinions, unscathed by the idotiiftcanien they should bear.
