Nolakay P. Cook, 80, of Moline, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, IL.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, Illinois. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to services. Pastor Scott Culley will officiate. Burial will be at Hampton Cemetery immediately following. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home, the activities department.
Nolakay Pauline Pardee was born September 4, 1943 in Keithsburg, Illinois; the daughter of Fred Melton and Pauline (Smith) Pardee. Nola was a 1961 graduate of United Township High School. She married Albert L. Cook on October 9, 1961 in East Moline, Illinois. Nola enjoyed square dancing with her husband, bingo, playing cards online, and bird watching. She was an avid sports fan of the Bears and the Bulls. Nola will be remembered for serving waffles on Saturday and Sunday mornings to her family. She made many homemade pies loved by her family, especially banana cream pie. Nola was also a great cook; she taught her family how to make her famous chicken and noodles. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Albert Cook, her children, Fred (Dawn) Cook, Moline, Donald (Cyndi) Cook, Kewanee, and Alta (Joseph) Fecht, Cambridge, her grandchildren, Cassie (Jimmy) Stahler, Danielle (Clayton) Martin, Brianne Seabloom (Hunter Price) Brandon Cook (Whitney Snyder), Justin (Jenna) Cook, Samantha (Kit) Cornish, and Megan (Nathan) Johnson, 16 great-grandchildren and her sister, Judy Florian, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, great-grandchildren, Avari and Oliver, and two sisters.
