Dolores I. Thompson, 82, of East Moline passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline, 412-10th Street Moline.
Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline immediately following. Memorials may be left for the family.
Dolores was born on July 22, 1936, in Moline, the daughter of Theophil and Alice Marie Dhondth Cathelyn. She married Robert Thompson in 1987. He passed in 1992. She was known as a great jitter bug dancer; she could take the floor especially at the American Legion. She was a member of the Country Music Association. She enjoyed family parties at her home. Her animals had a special place in her heart.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janet (Steve) Nelson, East Moline; her son, Ross (Dawn) Curtis, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Keirstin, Kody, DelAnna; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Zander, and Zayden; sisters, Lucille “Granny” Richardson, East Moline, Catherine Maddox, Moline, many nieces, nephews, a special friend, Marcos Alvarez, and her beloved dog, Kota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Thompson, brother, Camiel, sister, Margaret “Dolly” Brown, granddaughter, Kaylene, and a special dog, Jitzu.
