Elrita Teague

Elrita Teague, 97, of Moline, departed from this life, Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, East Moline, IL with a hour visitation prior to services.  There will be a visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the church.  Rev. Cyrus Burns will officiate.  Burial will follow at Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, IL.  Memorials may be made to Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.

Elrita was born July 6, 1921, the daughter of Crotis and Birdie (Hampton) Teague Sr. in Springville, Tennessee.  She married Abron Teague in Paris, Tennessee.  After moving to East Moline, IL, she was employed at the Fort Armstrong Hotel, LeClaire Hotel, St. Anthony’s Hospital, and Moline Public Hospital where she retired from after 15 years of service.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking; we all definitely enjoyed that!  Elrita accepted Christ at an early age.  She was a member of Gaines Chapel for many years.

Those left to cherish her memories are daughter; Inez Teague Chapman, East Moline, sons; Cornell Teague, Davenport, and R. Earl (Pam) Teague, Moline, daughter-in-law; Lynn Teague, Rock Island, sister; Mary Guthrie, Milwaukee, WI, and aunt; Mildred Puckett, Puryear, TN., numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, host of relatives, many friends and special friends; Juanita Cummings and Edna Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons; JC, Fred and John H. Teague, brothers; Crotis Teague Jr., William Ed Clay, and sister; Arneida Teague.
