Ivan Wilcox Obituary
Ivan L. Wilcox, 60, of Hampton, IL, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday, February 16, 2012, 4:00 7:00 p.m. at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, IL, with services on Friday, February 17, at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Pastor Nikki Ross Bishop will officiate. Burial is in the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Ivan was born August 21, 1951, Keosauqua, IA, to Chester Ivan and Vivian (Isenbacker) Wilcox. He married Connie Keyes on June 2, 1973. He was a self employed barber for 30 years, retiring in August 2011. He enjoyed golf, picks, bowling, pool and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Cardinals, Bears and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Ivan belonged to the Eagles Lodge 1839 and East End Club.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, daughter, Malinda Wilcox, son, David Wilcox, both of Hampton, IL, sisters, Karen (Roger) Wolfe, Salinia, KS, Betty Jean Wilcox, Moline, IL, Shirley Frye, CA, Crystal (Jeff) Dark, Pittsfield, IL, brothers, Chet Wilcox, Jacksonville, IL, Alfred Wilcox, Aledo, IL, Richard Spencer, Jacksonville, IL and his best friend, Scott Maher, Hampton, IL. Ivan is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna.
Memorials may be made to the VA Clinic, Bettendorf, IA and the VA Hospital in Iowa City, IA.
