James McDowell, 70, of Hampton, IL passed away, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3rd Avenue, East Moline. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Brighton, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Milan no kill Animal Shelter.
James was born November 30, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa; the son of Francis Mc Dowell and Elanore Jean (Snider) Davisson. He married Susan Gutnecht. She preceded him in death. James worked at John Deere Harvester as a brake operator for 35 years.
James enjoyed the outdoors and he considered the outdoors “His Office”. He loved being with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elanore Jean Davisson, Silvis, brother, Ron Davisson, Erie, and sister, Nancy Castro, East Moline.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis McDowell, wife, Susan McDowell, brother, Duane Mc Dowell, and brother-in-law, Mike Castro.
