Allen Edward Branch

Allen E. Branch, 66, of East Moline passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.  Visitation will be two hours prior to services.  Pastor P. W. Harris will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded after services.  Memorials can be made to family.

Allen Edward Branch was born August 16, 1956 in Rock Island, Illinois; the son of Wade A. Branch, Sr. and Lillian J (Benford) Branch.  He was a 1974 graduate of Rock Island Senior High School.  Allen married Gwendolyn Johnson September 4, 1983 in Moline, Illinois.  He retired from Oscar Mayer in 2010 as line tech.  Allen was the former Pastor of Prayer and Faith Mission Church, East Moline.  He was a fan of San Francisco 49ers, the Yankees, and LA Lakers.  Allen was an avid bowler and softball player.  He was a proud “early” gamer. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of thirty-nine years, Gwendolyn Branch, his children, Marissa (Gerald) Jones, Ty and Darnell Fouse, Allen Branch Jr., Stacey Parson, Tivon  Branch,  and Jarrod (Breanna) Branch, 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandson,  his siblings, Devolia Harvard, Vicki Gassoway, Dorothea (Apostle Dennis) Counce, Pastor Wade (Kandy) Branch, Jr., Pastor Susan (Apostle Thomas) Booker, and Pastor Scott (Diane) Branch,  adopted siblings, London (Jeffrey) Clark, Shawn Clemons, foster siblings, India and Chezney Clemons,  his stepmother, Vera Branch, his uncles, Ozzie(Pat) Branch, and Forest Benford, his aunts, Carol Steele and Betty Roberts, a host of nieces, and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers, Kevin Branch, Alan Martin and his sister, Jacqueline Williams.
