Archie C. Reeves, 82, of East Moline, passed Thursday, May 6, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 14 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3209-60th Street, Moline. Inurnment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Atkinson, IL. Visitation will be 5:00- 7:00p.m. Thursday, May 13 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd, 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Everyone attending must wear masks and social distance. Memorials may be made to the family.
Archie Claire Reeves was born April 19, 1939 in Chariton, Iowa; the son of Riley M. and Eva May (Hill) Reeves. Archie married Annette Van Norway March 3, 1962, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hampton. He served in the U.S. Army. Archie worked for the The Rock Island Arsenal for twenty-six years as inspector, retiring in 2006. Archie was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and was an avid sports fan. Archie was a devoted husband and father to his children.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Annette Reeves, his daughter, Tracy (James) Elliott, Silvis, his son, Kevin Reeves, East Moline, his grandchildren, Nicholas Elliott, East Moline, Dillon Elliott, East Moline, Devin Elliott, Silvis, Noah Elliott, Silvis, Autumn Reeves, Silvis, 3 great-grandchildren, his sister, Mary Reeves, Milan, and his brother, Raymond Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Eva Reeves, his great grandson, Zachary Elliott, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
