Audrey Jean (Lowe) Mc Gaughy

Audrey J. Mc Gaughy, 94, of Moline passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at her home.

Visitation will be 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline.  Inurnment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Audrey Jean Lowe was born December 16, 1931 in Algoma Mills, Ontario, Canada; the daughter of William Edward and Beulah (Wilkins) Lowe.  She attended schools in Canada.  Audrey worked at Service Rubber for 45+ years before retiring in 1998.  She married James Lloyd Mc Gaughy at the First Baptist Church of Rock Island in 1966.  He passed July 13, 1972.

Audrey was a lifelong member of the VFW women’s auxiliary.  She was also a member of the Moose.  Audrey was an avid knitter, quilter, and crocheter.  She spent many hours making various blankets for every member of the family.  Audrey also enjoyed reading and working in her flower beds.  She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike Palmer, John (Raena) Palmer, Alan Palmer, and Mark Mc Gaughy, her grandchildren, Serena Eve Mc Gaughy, Cameron Palmer, Aidan Palmer, Jonathan Palmer, Janelle Santille, Lisa (Mike) Wright, Robert (Bekah) Palmer, Christine Palmer, Aaron Roberts, and William Roberts, her great-grandchildren, Rory, Renee, Fredrick, Austin, Noah, Evan, Morgan, Ava, Gavin, Sophia, Caitlyn, Elijah, Nicolas, Natalie, and Raven, and her great- great-grandchild, Sawyer, her brother,  Allen Lowe,  Blind River, Ontario, and Bill Camery, Moline. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah Lowe, her husband, James Lloyd Mc Gaughy, her son, James D. Mc Gaughy, and her sister, Shirley Bouchard.
