Ava Anderson-Frazier Obituary

Ava May Anderson-Frazier, 68, of Moline passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at her home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2025 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, IL.  Pastor P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. September 11, 2025 at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.

Ava Anderson Frazier was born in Moline, Illinois, in 1956 to her loving parents, Fred and LaJune Anderson. She graduated from United Township High School with the Class of 1974 and went on to pursue her passion for creativity, majoring in Art at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. In the late 1970s, Ava met the love of her life, Randy, and together they began their journey on the West Coast, eventually marrying in Reno before settling in Oakland, California.

Ava built a dedicated career as a bank officer, working at several banking institutions, and later continued her professional life as a support representative at AT&T after she and her family returned to the Quad Cities in 1987. She and Randy were blessed with four children — Randy Jr. (RJ), Aaron (A1), Kai, and Evan — who were the pride and joy of her life. In addition to her career, Ava devoted herself to caregiving when her mother’s health declined, showing her deep sense of love and responsibility. Her greatest joy, however, came in her later years as a grandmother, where she poured her heart into creating cherished memories with her grandchildren.

Ava will be remembered for her extraordinary creativity and artistic talent, which she shared generously throughout her life. She found joy in volunteering as a parent mentor, teaching art at her grandson Khalil’s school, and inspiring children to discover their own gifts. She also had a love for the kitchen, where her cooking brought people together and her famous German chocolate and 7UP cakes became treasured family traditions. With a true green thumb, she filled her home and garden with life, nurturing every plant with the same gentle care she showed to those around her. Her warm laugh and radiant smile could light up any room, and she had a natural gift for making friends wherever she went. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and who will carry forward her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love.

Survivors are her husband Randy, her children, Randy Jr. (Annie), Aaron (Toniika), Kai, Evan., her grandchildren, Tevian, Jaylen, Amiah and Khalil, her sister Carolyn, aunts Deeni and Keke, many many loved cousins and “adopted kids”.

She was preceded in death by her father Fred Anderson, mother LaJune Anderson, and brother James Hollowell.
