Barbara Jane (Young) Fackler

Barbara Fackler, 88, formerly of East Moline, passed away on Wednesday June 21, 2023, at Hope Creek Care and Rehab, East Moline.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.  Tuesday, June 27, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline.  Visitation on Monday, June 26, will be from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Crosstown Square, Silvis.

Barbara was born January 7, 1935, in Rock Island, the daughter of William and Catherine (Lovelett) Young. She married Donald Fackler on September 12, 1954, at Watertown Baptist Church, East Moline.  Barbara was a 1953 graduate of United Township High School, East Moline.   She worked as a school secretary for the East Moline School District for 35 years. Barbara’s favorite pastimes were crocheting, making costumes for her grandchildren, and being with her grandchildren as much as possible.  Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her son Donald (Vicki) Fackler Jr., Costa Mesa, CA, granddaughter Melissa Fackler, Nashville, TN., grandson Chad Fackler, Costa Mesa, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Sr, her sister, Helen Carter and her niece, Linda Carter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Crosstown Square staff, especially Patty, and Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, for their excellent care.  Barbara loved her time there.
