Berneice Young Obituary
Berneice Young, 85, of East Moline, IL, died Thursday, May 03, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Friday, May 11, 2012 from 9:00 10:00 a.m. with services following at 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline. Rev. P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline is handling arrangements.
Berneice was born February 9, 1927 in Belzoni, MS. She married James Thompson and later married Gene Young. She was a baker and candy maker.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Gary) Cleppe, Brooklyn, IA, Janice Thompson Young, Regina Thompson Young, (fianc, Jasper Mayfield), Davenport, IA, sons, James Thompson and Melvin (Christina) Thompson, all of East Moline, sisters, Geraldine (Otis) Brown, Broadview, IL and Pearline Johnson, Chicago, IL, host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sons, Ernest and Charles, a sister and 3 brothers.
