Brooksie Baker Obituary
Brooksie Marie Baker, 105, of East Moline, departed from this life, Friday, October 23, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday, October 31, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, with the Rev. P. Wonder Harris officiating. There will be a visitation, Friday, October 30, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Hampton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Elevator Fund.
Brooksie was born June 2, 1910, in Springville, TN to Josh Teague and Ada Box Teague. She married Eddie Porter in Springville, TN. Brooksie was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, attending church, and spending time with her family. Five children were born unto her; Marvell Porter, Curtis Porter, Ira Porter, Johnnie Ruth Brown, and Jimmie Barham.
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, 1 daughter, sister: Mildred (Freeman) Puckett, Puryear, TN, brother: William Teague, Milwaukee, WI, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sons Curtis Porter and Ira Porter.
A special thanks to the staff of Rosewood Care Center.
