Carmen Jackie (Wakefield) Wickersham

Carmen Jackie Wakefield- Wickersham, 69, of East Moline, Il passed away on July 15,

2025 in Silvis, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, Illinois. The burial will be at

Hampton Township Cemetery. Rev P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Visitation will be 10-

11am prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the family in

care of James Wakefield.

Jackie was born on February 10, 1956 in Silvis, IL to Hazel and Carrie Wakefield. She

graduated from United Township High School East Moline, IL in 1974. Jackie married

John Wickersham Jr on July 14, 1998 in East Moline, IL. She was employed at various

places throughout the Quad Cities area; retiring from The Lighthouse in 2020. Jackie

was an assistant at her daughter’s daycare, TLC Home Childcare.

Jackie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, vacationing with her

family, watching crime shows, keeping up with local and national events, playing slot

machines, and playing solitaire games on her tablet. She also loved caring for her

many plants. Jackie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mount Zion

Missionary Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her spouse, John Wickersham Jr, East Moline, IL;

brothers Jim (Mattie) Wakefield, Springfield, Massachusetts and Donald Wakefield,

Madison, Wisconsin; children, James (Mindy) Wakefield, Silvis, IL; LaTayna Williams,

East Moline, IL; Louis (Veronica) Williams Jr, Davenport, Iowa; Hazel Williams, Silvis,

IL; Jackie Thompson, East Moline, IL; LaKeysha Wakefield, East Moline, IL; Selita

Wickersham, East Moline, IL; John Wickersham II, East Moline, IL; 19 grandchildren, 7

great grandchildren; God children, Alejandro and Patrick Wickersham Jr; and nephew,

Robert Wakefield. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Carrie

Wakefield; sister, Pearl Mae Patterson; aunt, Rosalee Boldton; uncle, Jimmie Lee

Boldton; grandmother, Carrie Mae Boldton; great grandson Jayden Cody Brown; and

granddaughter, Sophia Wickersham.
