Carol L Stout, 87, of Bettendorf IA died October 14th, 2025. As her health declined, Beacon of Hope hospice assisted to maintain Carol’s wishes to be home, and she was able to pass in the manner she had always wanted. Carol was born on May 29, 1938, to Joe and Elinor Vrban in Moline, IL. Carol was an alumni of UTHS class of 1956. Carol married Stuart D Stout on February 15,1958 in Chicago, IL. They raised three children together. Carol had worked at Buddy L as a spot welder, Canteen Services at several John Deere locations, and in 1973 she joined the workforce at John Deere Harvester as a drill press operator where she retired January 1, 1999. Once retired, she devoted her time to her children, grandchildren, and her hobbies. Carol loved her flowers and plants, digging in her yard for hours, and would say, “gardening is my therapy”. Birdwatching and feeding her feathered friends also gave her much joy. Carol was an animal lover at heart and the animals were drawn to her. She enjoyed many cats and dogs in her lifespan. Her final canine companion, Abby, was beside her in the end. Carol is survived by her three children, Sherri D Stout, Cleveland, IL, Stuart D Stout, Naperville, Il and Sheila D Dreher (Steven) Bettendorf, IA. Her four grandchildren, Evan Lopez, Riverton, WY, Zackery Stout (Megan), Moline, IL, Caleb Kovacic & Sayde Kovacic, Bettendorf, IA, all of whom she dearly loved. Carol is additionally survived by her brother, James Vrban. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Joe & Elinor Vrban, her brother Joe Vrban, and her husband Stuart Stout. Graveside services for family & friends, per her wishes, will be held Friday October 17, 2025 at 11 am in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona, IL. Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd. is assisting the family.
