Charles Korthals Obituary
Charles L. Chuck Korthals, 75, of East Moline, IL, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at his home. A Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 1:00 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in the Rock Island National Cemetery, with military honors by the East Moline American Legion Post 227.
Charles was born February 21, 1939 in Moline, IL, the son of Lloyd C. and Cozene M. (VeVerka) Korthals. He married Alice Davis on April 22, 1961 at Jack Sprouts home. He was a Navy Veteran. Chuck was a machine operator for IBP for 14 years. He was a member of the East Moline American Legion Post 227, the Eagles, Sea Cadets MOC Club and Civil Defense.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, children, Jeanette Strohbehn, Moline, Michael Korthals, Missouri, John Korthals, Clinton, IA, Kayla Korthals, and Lyz Korthals, both of East Moline, Lorie Stroh, Prophetstown, Dean Tony Korthals, and Kori Korthals, both of East Moline, sisters, Jackie (Gary) Penniston, Florida, Dixie (Fred) Lemkau, Minnesota, Deborah (Mike) Dority, Nebraska, 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
