Charles LaMonte Williams

Charles LaMonte Williams, 50, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Indianapolis Indiana.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline. Visitation one hour before services. On Friday, May 19, 2023, 5:00-7:00 p.m. there will be a visitation at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline.  Burial follows Hampton Township Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to ANZORA’S Foundation.

Charles LaMonte Williams was born July 11, 1972, in Silvis, Illinois; born the son of Brenda Joyce Westbrook Lee and Charles Williams.  He attended United Township High School, East Moline, class of 1990.   He attended Barber College in Davenport and recently attended classes in Indianapolis, Indiana and received his CDL license.       

Charles was affectionately known as “Smoke” and “Bookman.”  He most recently was employed at Wonder Brands on the production team, and also at Indy Go Public Transportation, as a City Bus Operator.

Charles was a jokester and he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He enjoyed music, playing pool, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his cousins. He loved his entire family but especially his children and his new granddaughter. He was happy and proud to become a grandfather.
 

Charles leaves his loving and supportive mother, Brenda Joyce Westbrook-Lee (Eddie), Madision, Mississippi, his father, Charles Williams, Davenport,  his daughters, Cynetre Williams (Nee Nee), Houston, Texas, and Takota Williams (CoCo), Davenport, his son, Charles Williams II (CJ), East Moline, his granddaughter, Zaniyah Williams, East Moline, his sisters, La Shonda Thornton (Bowman), Miami, Florida, Janelle Williams (Darnell), Villa Rica, Georgia, Brittney Williams, Davenport, and his brother, Terrance Mason (EL), Davenport, his nieces, nephews, many Westbrook and Williams, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
