Chris Brasmer Obituary

Chris “Smurf, Hippie” E. Brasmer, 61, of Milan, passed away, Monday, January 18, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island. 

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3rd Avenue, East Moline.  Cremations rites will be accorded after the visitation.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Chris Eugene Brasmer was born March 2, 1959; the son of Albert Paul Brasmer and Jane (Jordan) Smith.  He married the love of his life, Anna Johnston, July 22, 1989, in Milan in the front yard of his mother’s home. His mother’s home became their current home.  Chris was currently working at Moline Welding, Inc., Milan, Illinois as a painter/truck driver.

Chris was a proud life member of The National Rifleman’s Association.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and drinking beer!  Most of all, his children and grandchildren came first in his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna Grace Brasmer, Milan, his children, Chris Eugene (Randi) Brasmer, Jr., Montogomery, Illinois, Dorraine Mae Glaspie, Coal Valley, Illinois, Angela Mae Taylor, Colona, Illinois,  Trisha Nicole (Shellie) Fitch,  Colona, Illinois,  Anna Marie (Chad) Mc Neal, East Moline, Illinois, his grandchildren, William Robertson, IV, Teresa Robertson, Richard Whicker, Breanna Whicker, Terry Glaspie, Nicole Burney, Vennassa Burney, Anthony Burney, Eve McNeal, Derrick McNeal, Alexis Benson, Chris Hodshire, Breanna Hodshire, Jessica Hodshire, and John Brasmer,  7 great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews,  brother, Vince (Lori) Payne,  step-brother,  Anthony Smith,  step-sister, Lisa Smith, and special friends, Scott Jester, and Joe (Sherry) Meseck and Country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Lance Smith, half-brother, Tom Payne, step-sister, April Payne, grandchildren, Autumn, Stormy, and Annalisa Brasmer.
