Clementine Jackson Obituary

Clementine Jackson, 82, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Silvis Center Nursing. Rehab. Care.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior starting at 9:30 a.m. Pastor P. Wonder Harris will officiate.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to White Cross C/O Homewood Evangelical Free Church (donations of clothes, hygiene products, etc. for regions of Africa).

Clementine Porter was born January 18, 1944 in Mound Bayou, Mississippi: the daughter of Walter Henry and Priscilla (Anderson) Porter.  She attended Drew Hunter High School, Drew Mississippi, graduating in 1962.  Clementine married Jesse Adams Sr. and from this union was born three children.  He passed April 8, 2003.  She later married Otha James Jackson.  Clementine was certified as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and Activity Director.  She attended Moody Bible school for 6 years.  Clementine was a member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline.  She taught adult Sunday School for many years starting in 1972. 

Clementine enjoyed doing ceramics, cooking special dishes for family gatherings, and getting her hands dirty tending to her flowers.  Clementine will be remembered as being a “fashionista”. Her biggest most fulfilled dream as a young girl was to become a wife, and mother.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Lavern Adams, Debra Renee Stevenson, and Jesse Charles Adam Jr., all of Silvis, her grandchildren, Chalondra Renee Clark, (her only granddaughter who she affectionately called Charlie from birth. When Charlie walked in the room, no one else mattered), Quincy Charles Adams ,the first born grandchild who was the apple of her eye,  and Corey Eugene Adams, her great-grandchildren, Quantrell Charles Adams, Cameron Charles Clark, and one great-great grandson, Amirion Charles Adams, her siblings, Jimmie (Leola) Porter, and Herman Porter, both of Lexington, Mississippi, Mary Ann Porter, East Moline, and Shirley Porter, Greenwood, Mississippi, host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, her BBF since she was 9 years old, Loubeartha Hearon Crowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Willie, Walter, Norman, and Cleveland Porter, her sisters, Virgie Cross, Dorothy Coley, and Catherine Robinson.
