Dean Robinson, 83, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, at his home.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd, East Moline, with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.
Dean was born June 23, 1933, in Welling, OK, son of David and Hattie (Griffith) Robinson. Dean married Daisy Marshall on July 29, 1950, in Princeton, IA. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2014.
Dean was a Korean War veteran and member of VFW Post POUNDSIGN1975 of Port Byron. He was an Installer in the floor covering industry. Dean was a very hard worker and even working seven days a week to support his family. Finally his wife convinced him to take Sundays off. He was a standup bass player, guitar and mandolin musician. Dean enjoyed country and bluegrass music. He traveled around the country, but mainly Southwest. Dean once played at the Grand Ole Opry and got to use Charlie Prides dressing room. He enjoyed watching football on Sunday and woodworking. Dean and Daisy were married for almost 64 years until her passing in 2014.
Dean leaves to cherish his memories his son, James Robinson, Milan, IL; daughters, Cynthia (Larry) Marlow, Indianapolis, IN, Gayleen (Mitch) Callihan, Colona, IL, Pamela Langley, Midwest City, OK; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Pam) Robinson, CA; sisters, Judith Latta, Moline, IL, Linda (Robert) Poor, Galesburg, IL; and a host of nephews and nieces; special niece, Lesa Ahrens.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Daisy, sister, Freeda Ryker and brothers, Marvin and Calvin Robinson.
Memorials may be made to the Childrens Therapy Center of Moline, IL.
