Destinee A. Carothers, 26, of East Moline passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary. Wayne Williams will conduct the services. Visitation will be 30 minutes before services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be left for the family.
Destinee Aniya Golden was born December 20, 1998 in Rock Island, Illinois; the daughter of Stanley and Taleika (Hickman) Golden. She was a 2017 graduate of Moline High School. Destinee was a stay-at-home mom to her sons, Liam and Jackson. She married Scott Carothers May 17, 2021 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Destinee was an avid reader. Destinee and 6 of her friends formed a book club, “Babe’s in Bookland”. Destinee enjoyed TV series and dramas. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Scott Carothers, East Moline, her sons, Liam and Jackson Carothers, all at home, her parents, Stanley and Taleika Golden, Moline, her brother, Stanlee Golden, Moline, her father-in-law, Bill Carothers, East Moline, her brother-in-law, Martin Carothers, East Moline, and her best friend, Cellina Manley, Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Vicky Hickman, and her mother-in-law, Melinda Carothers.
