Dexter C. Jensen, 82, of Moline passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330-13th Street Moline, IL. Pastor Peter Bredlau will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3rd Avenue, East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Dexter Charles Jensen was born July 8, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana; the son of Marvin and Doris (Erickson) Jensen. He was a 1959 graduate of Moline High School. Dexter married the love of his life, Rose Mary Symser at Disciples of Christ Church, East Moline, November 24, 1962. He retired from Case IH, East Moline, IL as an Inspector in 1993. Dexter was a caretaker for anyone who was in need. He was a father figure to his siblings. Dexter was a very active member of the former Community Christian Church of Moline. He helped build the church. Dexter always planned vacations with his beloved family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and environmentalist. Most of all, he was devoted to his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Rose Mary Jensen, his children, Diana (Tom) Longernecker, Bettendorf, IA, Tony (Robb) Jensen, San Diego, CA, Debbie (Lomko) Kunakey, Moline, IL and Donna (Brad) Burroughs, Davenport, IA, his grandchildren, Kayla and Sara Longenecker, Katie Jensen-Pinell, Jake and Danny Burrroughs, and his sister, Pam Johnson, New York City, NY, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers, Dennis and Gary Jensen.
