Donald Russell Meeker

Donald R. Meeker, 84, of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away April 4, 2024 at his home.

There will be no services.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

Donald Russell Meeker was born November 11, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa; the son of Homer (Russell) and Leona (Begntol) Meeker.  He attended Ottumwa High School. He was a member of the US NAVY.  Donald was retired as a custodian at Louisa-Muscatine High School.  He was a member of the Masons, Wapello, Iowa. He enjoyed wood working and hunting. Donald loved being outside.

He is survived by his daughter, Bridgett (Don) Muller, East Moline, his son, Brendan Jessica) Meeker, New Boston, Illinois, his grandchildren, Ashley Leggett, Amy Leggett, Corey Meeker,  Austin Meeker, Izzy Meeker, and Chloe Coulter,  his siblings, Robert Meeker, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Chris Meeker, Denver, Colorado, Nancy Blunk, Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Connie Sheehan, Des Moines, Iowa. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles Meeker and his sister, Patty Mc Curdy, and great granddaughter, Amelia Rose Marie Dixon
