Donna J Bomelyn

Donna J. Bomelyn, 79, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Visitation will be Monday, August 5, 2013 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, from 4:00 7:00 p.m., with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline with Rev. Donald Levitt officiating. Burial is in the Rock Island National Cemetery following services.

Donna was born June 19, 1934 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth M. (Huffmier) Larkin. She married Richard V. Bomelyn on October 5, 1957 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2012. She was a nurses aid at Illini Hospital from 1970 to 1980.

Donna enjoyed reading and going out to eat. She volunteered at the Butterworth School Library for over 20 years and loved to sing in the choir.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Beth) Bomelyn, Rock Island, IL, David Bomelyn, Mesa, AZ, daughters, Mary (Jeffrey) Lavin, Milan, IL, Karen Seidell, Glendale, AZ, grandchildren, Joshua (Erin) Lavin, Jami Lavin, Andrea Bomelyn, Kristi Bomelyn, Brett Seidell, step grandchildren, Alison and Julie, 6 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus and Hope Creek for the special care provided our mother.
