Ethel Laverne (Kimble) Holland

Ethel L. Holland, 83, of East Moline went to be with Our Lord and Savior peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Silvis.  Pastor Stephen Lovelady will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the Shepherds Ministries C/O First Baptist Church of Silvis, 1101-10th Avenue Silvis, IL 61282.

Ethel Laverne Kimble was born January 26, 1940 in Whitney Point, New York; the daughter of Lisle and Ruth (Walter) Kimble .  She graduated from Whitney Point Central High School New York.  Ethel married Harold Holland October 3, 1959, at St. Anne’s Church, East Moline.  Harold passed July 18, 1999.  Ethel was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Silvis, where she taught Bible School and Awana.  She was a homemaker and caregiver to anyone who needed help.  Ethel enjoyed camping and crocheting. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Beri (Gene) Dennhardt, East Moline, Illinois and Jerrin (Cindy) Holland, Clinton, Iowa, her beloved grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda) Dennhardt, Sun Valley, California, Christian (Shelby) Dennhardt, East Moline, Illinois, Jessica Holland, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Joshua Jay Holland, Goodview, Virginia, and her brother, Clayton (Debbie) Kimble, Indianapolis, Indiana,  host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her infant son, Gary Holland, and her brother, Lisle C. Kimble.
