Frances M. Jackson, 82, of Silvis, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Gaines Chapel, East Moline. Pastor Gail
Washington will officiate. Theresa Jones will conduct the casket final closing. Visitation will be one hour
prior to services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.
Frances Marie Kirklin was born July 19, 1942 to Obie Robinson and Annie Bell Kirklin in Boyce, Louisiana.
At 3 years old, Frances went to Houston to live with Isaiah and Ella Taylor who would raise her as there
own. At 6 years old, Frances turned her life over to Christ, at Mt Cannon Baptist Church, where Frances
sang in the Choir, Frances was also a member of the Junior User Board. At 20 years old Frances moved
to Oklahoma, where she met and married Paul Gibson. They later moved to Rock Island, Il. In this union
they had 2 children. They later divorced. Frances met and married William Jackson. In this union they
had one child, along with 4 bonus children. 9 Grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. Frances was
embraced by the Jackson family more as a sibling rather than as a sister – in – law. There are many
nieces and nephews that got to know Frances very well and loved her from both the Kirklin and Jackson
Families.
Frances was a member of Gaines Chapel, East Moline, Marion Temple 1146, and East Moline Elks. She
loved to crochet, needlepoint, sew and quilt. Frances enjoyed cooking and baking. Frances was an avid
vegetable and flower gardener. She loved her family and they loved her. Frances will be known for
kindness and her loving heart.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of almost 55 years, William along with her children, William
Jackson Jr.(aka.Billy), Barbara Jackson, Vernessa Jackson, and Robert (Nancy)Jackson, Siblings, Alma
Shay, Beaumont, Tx, Alfred Barns, San Antonio, TX, Marilyn Nelson, Alexandria, La. Kenneth Barnes,
Alexandria, La
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Obie Robinson and Anna Bell Kirklin-Barns, her son
Patrick Gibson, and daughter, Anita Jackson, Paul Kirklin, James Kirklin.
