Frankie Woods Obituary
Frankie Woods, 86, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2014, 4:00 7:00 p.m., at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, IL, with services on Saturday, September 6, at 10:00 a.m., also at Mt. Zion. Rev. P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline following services.
Frankie was born August 18, 1928 in Arkansas, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Marshall Faust. She married Willie J. Woods Sr., April 1944, in Marion, IL and he preceded her in death September 15, 2003. She worked at the East Moline State Hospital in the dietary department and at the New York Store in Moline. She was a caregiver for many children and their children.
Frankie Granny loved God, being with her family and friends, caring for children, making homemade rolls, traveling and bowling. Frankie was a member of the Eastern Star. She never met a stranger and loved to talk and laugh.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Woods, Moline, Aaron Woods, East Moline, daughters, Frances Lawrence, East Moline, Alice (Thethel) Locke, Colona, Linda (Randy) Davis, Philadelphia, MO, Nanette (Victor) Boyland, Murphy, TX, Melanie (Sonny) Lewis, East Moline, sisters, Hattie Thornton, East Moline, Ealer Joyner, Lewisville, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Willie J. Woods Jr., Bruce Woods, sister, Luerencia Faust, grandson, Antar Davis, and granddaughter, Rosalyn Hoye.
