Garland Husted Obituary
Garland, L. Husted, 80, of East Moline, IL, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. His visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 4:00 6:00 p.m. with services on Friday, March 22 at 10:30 a. m.at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Rev. Ron May will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
Garland was born November 28, 1932, Hope, ID, the son of Dewey E. and Louella (Serl) Husted. He married Carolyn Myers June 15, 1957. Garland was a crane and forklift operator and assembler for Kone, for 33 years retiring in 1997. He enjoyed making radio controlled airplanes, woodworking and worked for Dixon Plastics making chiropractic tables. He also enjoyed fishing. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, son, Ray (Karla) Husted, daughter, Twyla (Don) Lannen, all of East Moline, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister, Lee (Tom) Gibbons, Raton, New Mexico, and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Dwane and Ronnie Husted.
