Gary Martin Obituary
Gary J. Martin, 62, of Hampton, IL/Haines City, FL, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his home in Haines City, FL. Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2012 from 4:00 7:00 p. m., at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, with services on Saturday, July 28, at 3:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Rev. RG Mills will officiate. Burial is in Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, IL escorted by the Patriot Guard.
Gary was born June 13, 1950 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the son of John Lloyd and Amber Darlene (Warrington) Martin. He married Darlene Larrison on February 28, 1970 in the Hampton Methodist Church, and has been married for 42 years. Gary was retired in 2008 as shifthead supervisor at Lock and Dam 15 for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Arsenal Island. Gary was a US Navy Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Calvary Church QC in Moline.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, daughters, Dana (Steve) Wardlow, Milan, IL, Amber Martin, Hampton, IL, Andrea Martin, Muscatine, IA, sons, Shann Martin, New Windsor, IL, Ryan Martin, Toluca, IL, Jeff (Breana) Martin, Oceanside, CA, Chase (Danae) Martin, Hampton, IL, Joshua (Schalene) Martin, Milan, IL, Barry Martin, Gowanda, NY, Travis Martin, Hampton, IL, Robert Martin, Moline, IL, sisters, Rita (Frank) Weber, Bagley, Wisc., Betsy (Butch) Vorwald, Bloomington, Wisc., Janine Martin, Cassville, Wisc., Tammy (John) Dall, Hazel Green, Wisc., Robin (Barry) Allen, Reed Point, Montana, Roberta (Bill) Palmer, Luana, IA, brothers, Jim (Joyce) Martin, Bloomington, Wisc., Bruce Martin, Bagley, Wisc., Jeff (Amber) Martin, Bagley, Wisc., and 12 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
