Gary Dean Roberson

Gary D. Roberson, Sr., 73 of Campbell’s Island, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at his home.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Thursday, July 30 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., 1902-3^rd Avenue, East Moline. The Rev. Patricia Shea will officiate.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospitals.  Public gathering limitations allow for 50 people at a time within the funeral home.  All guests are to wear a mask at all times and social distance.

Gary Dean Roberson was born August 27, 1946 in Granite City, Illinois; the son of Charles E. and Lois N. (Marler) Roberson.  Gary was the second child of thirteen.  He was a self-employed laborer last working in 2008.  Gary married Donna Mincone December 3, 1979 in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.  Gary enjoyed dirt track racing and NASCAR.  He enjoyed being on the river.  Gary was a passionate Packers and Cardinal’s fan.  Gary was all about family; he loved spending time with them especially around the kitchen table.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 40 years, Donna Roberson, Campbell’s Island, his children, Tammy Roberson, Moline, Jason Roberson, Davenport, James Roberson (Britany Mattingly),  East Moline, Joseph Roberson, East Moline, 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his sisters, Mary Snell, Campbell’s Island, Sally (Ken) Way,  Silvis, Susie Roberson (Brett Dawson) Campbell’s Island, his brothers, Charles (Patricia) Roberson, Cambell’s Island, Tom Roberson, Campbell’s Island, David (Kathy) Roberson, Lakeland, FL, Daniel (Theresa) Roberson, East Moline, Richard (Marcie) Roberson, Lakeland, FL,  and Michael Roberson, East Moline,  a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Gary Roberson, Jr., brothers, John, Ron, and Alan Roberson.
