Glenda Maudlin, 75, of Silvis, Illinois, took her nonstop, one-way flight to Glory, Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, Illinois.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd. 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline, Illinois. Rev. Steven Brown will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services. Committal services will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Delisle Cemetery, Portageville, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the family.
Glenda Joyce Widner was born September 3, 1945 at JY Missouri; the daughter of loving parents, Forrest Eugene and Celia Estel (Reams) Widner. She grew up in Portageville, Missouri, where she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church under the ministry of Rev. Hershel Godair and served in many positions, including choir, Sunday school teacher, bus captain, and musician. Later, she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church, Bloomington, Illinois under the ministry of Rev. Earnest Briethaupt, where she worked in ladies’ ministries and nursery. She was also a member of The Apostolic Sanctuary, Silvis, Illinois under the ministry of Rev. Gary Randol. Her current church membership is at Christian Life Church, Muscatine, Iowa under the ministry of Rev. Steven Brown. Glenda enjoyed creating things; sewing, baking, knitting, and more.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angie (Harlan) Huff, Coal Valley, her grandchildren, Jamie Huff, Zachary Huff, and Nailah Rose, her sisters, Bertha (Roy) Norton, Henning, Tennessee, and Anne Isbell, Covington, Tennessee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Dennis Franklin Carnell and Tony Maudlin, infant son, her brothers, Ferdie Eugene Widner, Billy Joe Widner, Gerald Wayne Widner, her sisters, Marie Woods and Vivian Diggs.
