Helen L. Bowling, 89, of Est Moline, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 in her home.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Pastor Glenn Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to QC Paws, Moline, IL.
Helen Lorraine Harris was born January 4, 1936 in Cosby, Missouri; the fourth child of Arthur Charles and Ida Louise (Hetherington) Harris. She married George Allen Bowling, August 2, 1952 in East Moline, Illinois. From this union was born James Bowling, Linda Osborne, and Christine Price. Helen was a prison guard for the East Moline Correctional Center last working in 1991.
Helen loved birdwatching and caring for her flowers. She loved the smell of freshly mowed grass. Helen loved animals especially her beloved dog, Buddy and Pea, the peacock. She loved spending time with her large family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James Dean Bowling, East Moline, Linda (Jeff) Osborne, Davenport, and Christine Price (Charles), Hillsdale, her 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, her siblings, John Baker, and Carol.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ida Harris, her husband, George Allen Bowling, her children, George A. Bowling, and Glenda Holland, her grandson, Charles Price, her siblings, Allan Harris, Bob Harris, Arlene Baker, and Donna.
