James Bennett Fisher Jr., formerly of East Moline, IL, passed away January 9, 2017 at his home in Anchorage, AK.
A private ceremony was held where he was cremated.
James was born in Chicago, IL, son of James and Henrietta Fisher. He was raised in East Moline, IL. James was a graduate of UTHS and worked at the East Moline State Hospital. James joined the USAF, where he retired after 27 years of service. He then went on to work for North Slope and retired again after 20 years. James worked as long as his health would allow him. He then started working for the Anchorage School District, where he stayed for 5 years. James was very dedicated and active with the Mason and Shriners. His love for fly fishing was his main hobby. James also enjoyed watching football and basketball on TV.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith (Norville) Fisher; son, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Fisher; sister, Judy (Fisher) Lewis of Lynwood, CA; brothers, Jesse and Leon Fisher both of Dallas, TX; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father and Donald Fisher.
