James Stogsdill Obituary
James Luther Stogsdill, 84, passed away late Sunday evening, after a long illness, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012, from 10:00 11:00 a.m., at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Services will be following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jerry Helms will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
He was born in Decatur, IL on September 11, 1928 to Minnie and Albert Stogsdill. His school years were spent in Decatur and Wyoming, IL. James married Gisela Nonnenmacher on February 21, 1960. He worked for International Harvester in the Heat Treatment Department for more than 30 years.
James liked to garden and hunt. He enjoyed just tinkering around, working on small motors and repairing things.
He leaves behind his wife, Gisela of 53 years, 3 wonderful sons, Richard, Morris, IL, Wayne (Beth), Creve Coeur, IL, Donald (Amy), Moline, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, sister, Grace Streitmatter, Princeville, IL, brother, Clifford Stogsdill, Decatur, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and 3 brothers.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt "Thank You" to all the wonderful and kind staff at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus and also Genesis Hospice who all went above and beyond. They are some of our Angels here on earth.
