James Earle Watson, 67, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at his home.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. June 29, 2024 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour before. Pastor Larry Johnson will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials maybe made to the family.
James Earle Watson was born December 3, 1956 in Paducah, Kentucky: the son of Isacc and Edna (Johnson) Watson. James attended United Township High School, East Moline. He was a self-employed Roofer and handyman.
James loved fishing and playing pool. Most of all he loved kids and spending time with family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Edna Watson, Rock Island, his sons, Demarco Watson, Portello, Idaho, Luke Fullove, Davenport, Iowa, Brandon Watson, Metropolis, Illinois, and Bryon Watson, Metropolis, Illinois, 11 grandchildren, his sisters, Constance Dickens (Kirk Lawson), Rock Island, Shiela Mason, Cleveland, Ohio, Trinia Seawright, Lexington Kentucky, Audrey Hicks, Moline, Robin (Lloyd) Phill, Paducah, Kentucky, and Yolanda Williams, St. Louis, Missouri, his brothers, Michael Watson, Rock Island, and Joey Watson (Patricia Griffith), Paducah, Kentucky, his aunts, Ann (Doug) Torian, Metropolis, Illinois, Hulene Dunne, St. Louis, Missouri, Nonie Bea Watson, Fort Worth, Texas, his uncles, Percy Johnson, Paducah, Kentucky Hildry (Gilda Rose) Johnson, Paducah, Kentucky, Larry Johnson, Dallas, Texas, his special friend, Tishia Rhoden, Rock Island, “like a brother” Peppy Garcia, Rock Island, and Kevin Nelson, Silvis, “like a sister” Shandra Lewis, Rock Island, Gwen Watford, East Moline, Marshall Witherspoon, Paducah, Kentucky, host nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, Isaac Watson, and a host of aunts and uncles.
