Jeanne Harriet Jahn, 91, of Moline, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26 at Zion Lutheran Church, East Moline, Rev. Gary Wright, officiant.
Jeanne was born January 31, 1925, in East Moline, IL, the daughter of James A. and Elizabeth M. (LaGrange) Rentz. She married Elmer Jahn on January 18, 1945 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death.
Jeanne worked as church secretary for 15 years at Zion Lutheran Church, East Moline, was very active within Mission Bells and LWML, and taught Sunday School. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved to paint in oils for family and friends and was an avid genealogist who has traced her family lines back to the 1100s. Jeanne was famous for her lemon bread and peanut brittle.
She is survived by her son, Rodney A. (Lillian) Jahn, Hampton, IL; daughters, Karen (Glenn) Payne, Hampton, IL, Sharon (Dan) Brown, West Liberty, IA; grandchildren, Brian, David, Kevin, Jennifer, Stacy, Clinton; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Cheryl) Rentz, Prophetstown, IL; sister, Edye Pearson, Bettendorf, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer, grandson, Aaron Jahn, and sister, Phyllis.
Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Little Lambs Pre-School or Compassus Hospice.
