Jerry Roberson Obituary

Jerry Lee Roberson, of Rock Island, Illinois, left this world on March 19, 2025 in his home. He was the third child born to Thomas Roberson Sr. and Barbara Roberson on July 12, 1981 in Moline, Illinois. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at the Logger House in Hampton, Illinois on April 5, 2025 at 2 p.m.  Food will be provided and drinks can be purchased at the establishment. Anyone wanting to make donations to the family can do so at that time. Jerry spent his life living here in the Quad Cities and did some work in grounds keeping and the warehouse industries. One thing about Jerry is he seemed to brighten any room he was in. He had such a colorful personality and a sense of humor like no other, he loved to make people laugh. There was never a dull moment with Jerry around and he was never afraid to say what was on his mind. One thing he enjoyed more than anything was spending time with his family whenever he could. He especially loved the holidays where he could tell his jokes to entertain everyone and eat as much food as he wanted because he really loved to eat. In his spare time there was many things Jerry enjoyed doing. He loved music, especially Metallica. You could play a song from just about anyone and he could tell you who it was and what year it came out. Jerry had such a great memory, he was especially good at remembering dates. He could tell you exact dates about things that happened years ago, even minor things like a conversation. It was just an amazing ability he had. Other things Jerry enjoyed was bowling; he used to be in a bowling league and he was very good at it. He always looked forward to bowling night with his friends and was so proud of being on that team. Jerry was also an avid sports card collector, even though he wasn’t much into watching sports except for the Chicago Bulls, he did like them quite a bit. In recent years Jerry started taking up some photography. He really enjoyed taking pictures of sunsets, the Mississippi River and just any scenery in general. He also enjoyed trying to rap, he would make videos of himself rapping to his own songs and send them to his family members or post them online. Not many people had the guts to do that but he did. He lived his life the way he wanted and took risks that many people wouldn’t. Jerry was loved by so many and he made life fun. He will be missed terribly by his family and friends. He truly was one of a kind with a heart of gold. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Roberson, stepmother Kathleen Roberson, stepfather Doyle Findley, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jerry is survived by his three children, Alyssa Roberson (Rock Island, IL), Holly Roberson (Mascot, TN), Cason Roberson (Davenport, IA), father, Thomas Roberson Sr., East Moline, IL; sister, Dawn Ball, Moline, Il; brother, Thomas Roberson Jr., East Moline, IL; sister, Melissa (Roy) Franklin, Bettendorf, IA; brother, James Rhodes, Sterling, IL; nephews: Timothy Cole, Nicholas Ball, Bradley Ball, Tyler Roberson, Roy Franklin, Devin Franklin, niece, Kelli Ball, great niece, Thea Cole; great nephew, Bearison Cole and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
