Joyce Sue Byrd

Joyce S. Byrd, 65, of East Moline passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.

There will be a Celebration of life on November 18,2023 at 11am at Sullivan Ellis Mortuary in East Moline

Joyce Sue Byrd was born July 20, 1958; the daughter of Frank Byrd Jr and Vivian Lee Byrd. She was a 1976 graduate of Harper High School in Chicago.

 Joyce enjoyed her free time listening to oldies, reading or writing. She enjoyed watching old westerns or True Crime TV along with a good action movie. Above all things in life Joyce enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. Joyce was a strong, proud, confident woman inside and out with a good heart. She never knew a stranger. Her family will deeply miss her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Fredrick Byrd of Moline, Jody Byrd of East Moline, grandchildren, Rico Byrd of PA, Neveah Opperman of Cresco, Iowa, Jasean Byrd of East Moline, Jody Byrd, Jr of East Moline, her brothers  Dementris Bryd of Davenport, Leonard Byrd of Chicago, and her sister, Delores Byrd of Georgia, a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Kathryn Byrd, and Delinda Byrd, her brothers, Rudolph Byrd and Raymond Byrd and Thomas Foster .
