Joyce Marie Johnson

Joyce Marie Johnson, 94, of East Moline passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, Illinois.

There will be no services; cremation rites will be accorded.

Joyce Marie Johnson was born February 10, 1932 in Bettendorf, Iowa: the daughter of Virgil and Ellen (Hill) Johnson. Joyce attended Central High School, Davenport, Iowa and Scott Community College, Davenport, Iowa.  She was a registered nurse last working in home care.

Joyce enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and gardening.  She had a soft spot in her heart for animals.   

Joyce is survived by her children: Karen (Mark) Gilmore, Davenport, IA, Pamela (Gary) Penrod, East Moline, Virgil (Diane) Penrod, Clarence, IA, and Frederick Penrod Jr., Muscatine, IA, her grandchildren; Shawn (Brandi) O’Callaghan, Tonya (Matthew) Sanquist, Shannon (Jason) Kohrt, Bobbie (Ryan) Speer,  Mark (Jessica) Gilmore, Katie (Cameron) Whitman, and Keith Penrod, lots of great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded by her parents by her parents, Ellen and Virgil Johnson, her sisters, Mary, Betty, and Hazel, her brothers, Robert and Richard Johnson. And special friend, Jenae Cousins.
