Judy Howard, daughter of Abner Howard Jr. and Betty (Scott) Howard, was born on August 16, 1946, in Galesburg, IL. Judy was a graduate of Winola High School, Voila, Illinois. She married Steven Goldsberry on October 17, 1981, in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death January 6, 2008. Judy was a dedicated, hard-working laborer at Aramark, where she always looked forward to her beloved Taco Tuesday lunch breaks at Adolph’s with coworkers; a tradition she carried on after she retired in 2011.
In her earlier years, Judy enjoyed going out with her friends, dancing, and having a couple cold ones. She also enjoyed going to stock car races, demo derbys, raising her grandchildren, and going to the Olympic Flame with her husband, Steve.
In more recent years, Judy loved tending to her flowers and yard. This led to her new hobby of vegetable gardening with her great-grandson. Judy also enjoyed camping, yard sales, watching her soaps and game shows and taking her great-grandchildren out for their Friday McDonald’s. When she was not busy with her hobbies, you might find her providing free neighborhood watch services from her front window. Judy was a strong, loving, hard-working woman with a heart of gold. More than anything, she loved helping others and spending time with the people she loved.
Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Kirsten Montgomery, Ashton Montgomery, and Caleb Essary; great-grandchildren, Landon Montgomery, and Mylo Lopez; brothers, Robert Howard, and Ronald (Brenda) Howard; sister, Connie (Jim) Hilliard; and a host of very special friends and family whom she loved deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abner and Betty Howard; husband, Steven Goldsberry; grandson, Tyler Goldsberry; brother, Brian Howard; and sister, Pat Landrith.
