Kenliada “Kiwi” M. Porter, born February 24, 1992 in Madison, Wisconsin; the daughter of Terrill D. Bailey and Victoria Marie Porter. She passed away unexpectedly, leaving a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Kiwi was the loving mother of her sons, Josiah Benton (Charles Benton), and Malachi and cherished sister to Chalicia, Chanecia (Oscar), Laterria, Joshua (Brandie), and Jaelin (Savanna).
Kiwi was also an adored aunt to Isaiah, Kason, Emilio, Paisley, Mateo, Kayden, Josh Jr., and Emberly. Her large extended family, which includes a host of aunts and uncles, was another integral part of her life. She leaves behind LaNelle Brown, Todd Brown, Anthony Porter, and Richard Brown, as well as her beloved cousins and countless friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
Kiwi was preceded in death by her dear uncle, Rev. Kenneth Porter, and her great-grandmother, Brooksie Baker Teague. She was also preceded by her cousins: James Teague, Joe Teague, Tika Teague, and Elizabeth Ann Teague, all of whom she loved deeply.
A proud graduate of UTHS, Kiwi was known for her bright spirit and radiant energy. She was not only a valued member of her school community but also had the honor of being named prom princess. Kiwi’s love for others extended beyond her family, as she spent many years as a camp counselor at Christian Friendliness, where she touched the lives of countless young people.
Her love for her family was immeasurable, and her cousins and siblings were her closest friends. She shared a special bond with her mother, Victoria, and her love and respect for her were evident in everything she did. However, the greatest title Kiwi ever held was that of “mother” to her son, Josiah. Their bond was unbreakable, and Kiwi’s love for Josiah was boundless. Through him, her memory will live on in the most beautiful way.
Kiwi’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and light. She had an infectious personality that could light up any room, and her laughter, kindness, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. While she may no longer be with us, her legacy will continue through the family she held so dear, and through the son who carries forward the best of her spirit.
Rest in peace, Kiwi. You will forever be in our hearts.
