Madeline Bertha Branch

Madeline Branch, 85, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, August 29., 2021 at Illini Restorative Center, Silvis, Illinois.

As per her wishes, there will be no services.  Cremation rites will be accorded.

Madeline Branch was born January 8, 1936 in Moline, Illinois; the twelfth child (she was one of thirteen children) of John and Mamie (Lofton) Branch.  She attended United Township High School, East Moline, Illinois.  Madeline worked as a cook for the Rock Island County Jail, last working in 2003. 

In her younger years, Madeline lived in California.  She worked as a professional cook for actress and singer, Patty Duke and various other TV personalities.  During her time in California, she was known for cooking and feeding the guys in her neighborhood.  Living in Illinois, Madeline enjoyed playing Bingo, baking, and cooking for her family and friends. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cherie Branch, East Moline, Patricia Morney, Georgia, and JoElla Grice, East Moline, seven grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, her brother, Ozzie (Pat) Branch, Silvis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Claude, Arthur, Robert, Clarence, Ben, Wade, John, infant brother, Anna, Dorothy, and   Gertrude.
