Margaret Fountain, 83, of Davenport, Iowa, went home to glory Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport with her family at her side.
Her Home Going Services will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Gospel Mission Temple Church, 5074 North Pine Street, Davenport, IA with the Bishop Dr. Jimmie R. Horton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Celebration of New Life Services for Margaret will be Thursday, June 6, at the church from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Margaret was born February 23, 1930 in Paraloma, Arkansas, the child of the late Mr. William and Mrs. Hattie (Walker) Fountain. She attended public school and received further education at Anna M. P. Strong Training School in Paraloma, Arkansas. She received her high school certificate and her legal health care certificate from Scott Community College.
She worked as a CNA for Visiting Nurses Association for over 13 years and did various private home health care jobs.
Margaret was a member of Gospel Mission Temple Church and one of the Mothers of the Church.
Survivors include her children, Marva (Verne) Teague, East Moline, Debbie (Fountain) Teague, Lonnie Fountain and William Allen (Rosemary) Fountain, Davenport; grandchildren, William Sean (Angie) Graves, Bettendorf, Dr. Shannon Neal, Kennon Neal, Jazmin Fountain, Hasani Teague, Davenport, and Jameel Fountain, Cedar Rapids, IA; great grandchildren, Mason Ray and Noah Elijah Neal, Josiah, Joshua and Hannah Graves, Elexis, Destiny, Olivia and Natani Teague and Akira Fountain; sisters, Ruthell Bogan and Floya Fountain-Williams, Davenport, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, Margie Davis and Louise Bryant, Davenport.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Hattie Fountain; daughter, Jackie Fountain; brothers, Rufus, Clarence, W.C., Jeff, William, Edward Lee, Riley Lee, and Rapheal; sisters, Carrie Bell, Ollabella and Okaredda.
