Mary Gile Obituary
Mary Ann Gile, 74, of East Moline, IL, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 6:00 7:30 p.m. with a Remembrance of Life Service following at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, LTd. East Moline. Rev. Don Pace will officiate. Mary Ann will be buried at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date.
Mary Ann was born January 20, 1940 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Elmyra Greenleaf Murphy. She married Edward Spencer Gile in Sterling, IL in 1976. Mary Ann worked as transportation utility clerk at Oak Glen Nursing Home for 15 years retiring in 1998.
She enjoyed bingo and sewing and also enjoyed giving and helping people, socializing with friends and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Ila Gile, son, Bryan (Tamara) Murphy, granddaughter, Morgan L. Murphy all of Coal Valley, and sister, Leona-Peterson Spear and husband, Donald Spear, Moline, grandson, stepdaughter, Bonnie Gormley, Milan, MO and Robert Gormley, Spikird, MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ed and grandson, Billy.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
