Mary C. Vroman, 67, of East Moline, IL, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Trinity Rock Island. Visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 4:00 7:00 p.m., at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline, with Friday, April 20, at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Rev. P. Wonder Harris will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
Mary was born December 7, 1944 in Louisville, Mississippi, daughter of Charlie and Chesteen (Anderson) Drummond. She married Harry F. Vroman Jr. August 21, 1976 and he preceded her in death. Mary was a machine operator at John Deere Harvester.
She accepted Christ at an early age. Mary was a very crafty person who loved to quilt and bake. She was a giver and extended her hand to everyone. Mary was a very loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Oscar Scott, Country Club Hills, IL, daughters, Monica (James Maid), East Moline, Tiffany (Shaun) Vroman-Taylor, Bowling Brook, IL, grandchildren, Raveen McQueen, Howard Armstrong III, Sydni Armstrong, Skye Scott, Madison Taylor, great grandson, Elijah Sandoval, sisters, Josephine (Marshall) Jackson, Davenport, IA, Charleszene (Robert) Pulliam, brothers, James (Doris) Drummond, both of Rock Island, Bobby Clark, Louisville, MS, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Jim and Sean Ervin and Nancy and Matt Drucker, and best friend, Helen Clark. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
