Michael Davis Obituary
Michael L. Davis, 58, of East Moline, passed away January 5, 2016 at Genesis Illini, Silvis, Illinois.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline. Service will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the church, Pastor P. Wonder Harris, officiating.
Mike was born May 20, 1957, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Herman Lee, Sr. and Elizabeth Austin Davis, of East Moline, where he resided until his passing.
Mike was employed by Ready Mix Group of Davenport, Iowa. Music and entertainment, especially Jazz, was a passion and appreciation Mike held throughout his life. A passion that he was proud to pass on to his daughter. His love of family and friends could not be more apparent than in his deep affection for his mother, Betty, whom he cherished dearly.
Mike enjoyed golfing, watching Westerns, good food, and taking his motorcycle out for a ride. Mike never met a stranger, and that can be seen in the countless condolences, and words of encouragement that have poured in from the surrounding community. The Quad Cities have lost one of its sons, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Davis; daughters, Michelle (Edward) Moore-Williams, Danielle (LeVelle) Brown; sons, Landon Davis, Jordan Davis; brothers, Donald (Deborah), Lee (Velma), Craig (Joni), Robin; sister, Sherri; 6 grandchildren, Jenaya, Tyson, Kendrick, DeSean, Dalen, Devin; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by father, Herman Lee, Sr., brother Charles, and sister, Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
