Michael Hicks Obituary
Michael Hicks, 56, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 19 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline with Rev. Kenny Porter officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary Ltd, East Moline. Inurnment will be at Moline Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Michael was born April 9, 1959 in Claremore, OK, son of Arthur Hicks and Rosie J. Lee. He married Audrey Watford in Rock Island.
Michael worked at the President River Boat in maintenance.
He loved to fish and shoot pool. Michael enjoyed cooking, especially making ribs. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed western and karate movies. He was a diehard Bears fan.
He is survived by his mother, Rosie J. Grisco, East Moline; beloved wife, Audrey; daughters, Kenyatta (Kevin) Watkins, MS, Takeira Hicks, MN; sons, Lafontaine Watford, Peoria, IL, Joshua Luten, KY, Shalamar (Ericca) Watford, Davenport, IA, Latiamar Watford, Moline; sister, Theresa (John) Hodson, Puyallup, WA; 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Arthur and stepfather, Willis Grisco.
