Michael L. Ros, 76, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Celebrate Senior Living of Moline.
There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Michael Leon Ros was born April 2, 1947; son of Robert and Leona (Pollentier) Ros. He was a 1966 graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. Mike was a Production Controller for The Rock Island Arsenal, retiring February 18, 2022. He married Cheryl A. Soluff in 2001. She passed January 29, 2018.
Mike had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation. His laugh was infectious to everyone around him and he was always the life of the party. A man of many stories, some factual and others not so factual, all that would draw out inspiring conclusion.
Mike had a passion for fishing that he shared with his daughter, Lisa, and the two of them would get out to the water as often as they could. He loved being outdoors and cooking epic meals on the grill, deep fryer or smoker and was often heard saying “this is succulent” while enjoying a tasty dinner.
Mike was a loving and devoted husband and father and is survived by his two daughters, Lori (Jack) Franson, Loves Park, Illinois, and Lisa (John) Penckofer, Prospect Heights, Illinois, his step-son, Corey Struve and his faithful cat, Peaches. This vintage dude, dubbed “The Man, The Myth, The Legend,” will be greatly missed.
