Micheal Hergert Obituary
Micheal O. Hergert, 62, of Colona, IL, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at home with his family. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 2:00 5:00 p.m. at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline, IL, with private graveside services at Dayton Corners Cemetery.
Micheal was born November 30, 1951 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Otto Mitchell and Rosie Martha (Schwager) Hergert. He married JoAnne Goodenow-Brozik on November 3, 1972 in Milan, IL. He was an assembler for Case IH for 29 years, retiring in 2004. He was an Navy Veteran. Mike was a Patrolman/Captain for the Green Rock-Colona Police for numerous years.
He enjoyed teasing people. Micheal loved spending time with his four grandkids, fishing, deer hunting, camping and riding his motorcycle. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne, sons, Micheal (Melanie) Hergert Jr., Colona, IL, John W. (Michelle) Hergert, Chapsmanboro, TN, grandchildren, Ethan M. Hergert, Caleb M. Hergert, both of Colona, Hannah King, Abigail Adams, both of Chapsmanboro, TN, siblings, John Jack (Judy) Hergert, Illinois City, IL, Jean L. Ryan, Cordova, IL, Charles Mitchell Hergert, Cairo, MO, Patrick H. (Ursula) Hergert, Jacksonville, MO, Jolene (John) Patrick, Moline, IL, Laurie (Frank) Adams, Cairo, MO, Joyce E. Hergert, Rock Island, IL, and mother-in-law, Mary J. Hennenfent, Brunswick, Maine. He has numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
